Now that doesn’t mean that everybody under the age of 55 has to have a reading of 120/80 or they have a problem. The 120/80 reading is the average.
While there is no “cure” for hypertension, the problem can be controlled, and people who have hypertension can live full, productive lives. The first things that a doctor usually advises a patient is to make some lifestyle changes. If they smoke, they should quit. If they are overweight, they should lose weight. And, if they don’t get enough exercise, they should increase their level of physical activity.
